Solana Del Bel Belluz is an SMC Certified Clinical Somatics Instructor, teaching and learning about brain-based movement and rehabilitative methods. She is also a tree planter, an explorer of the outdoors, and a contemporary dance artist.
Within all of her experiences of alternative healing modalities, somatic movement practices, dance teaching methodologies, and good ol’ physiotherapy, she has always craved a method of healing that maximizes movement potential and fills in that ‘missing link’ information about tension and pain. This led her to Clinical Somatics, a unique method that treats learning as an integral part of treatment and education as a pillar of health. Solana firmly believes that knowledge of one’s own body is essential for preventing injury, and maintaining vitality, joy, and health at any age.
She has since been practicing and teaching Clinical Somatics for almost two years and is continuously updating her knowledge and skills. Solana is currently offering online group classes and private sessions both online and in-person. She is passionate about thoroughly coaching and supporting her clients towards pain-free movement.
Clinical Somatics is neuromuscular education that uses the technique of pandiculation created by Thomas Hanna to retrain muscle memory and relieve pain. In each session, Solana guides you through a series of slow, focused movement exercises that teach the nervous system how to release chronic tension and address the deeply ingrained muscular patterns that affect posture and movement. These tension patterns are the cause of many types of musculoskeletal pain. Clinical Somatics empowers people to transform their bodies through awareness and strengthening of the brain-body connection. Unlike many rehabilitative methods, where treatment is passively received, Clinical Somatics actively engages you in a learning process. This process equips you to use these techniques at home to build resilience and continue to improve your body's functioning for the rest of your life.
